The Ashton Court Estate was once the gracious home of the Smyth family, and is now a historic park near the centre of Bristol. It covers 850 acres of woods and grasslands in total, designed by Humphry Repton. It has over 1.6 million visitors annually making the country park the UK's third busiest. Visit the Ashton Court Estate to discover the magnificent old oak trees and see the deer graze in an estate that first became a deer park over 400 years ago. On the estate's higher ground, there are two 18-hole pitch-and-putt golf courses, with stunning views across the city. Orienteering and mountain biking are catered for with special trails, and there is plenty of open space for family games and picnics.
came for the balloon fiesta, a really amazing event, parking and traffic really well controlled for us personally, no issues with getting in or out. the only issue we had was no toilet roll in any of the toilets near the car park entrance which led to us unfortunately leaving early, all in all a really good day.
One of my favourite places to walk the dog. Lots of different paths you can take and explore - short or longer walks ! Your choice! There's a lovely cafe, toilets and beautiful gardens near the house and it seems very child friendly. Great views of Bristol and beautiful when the deers are out. Was there this weekend for the balloon fiesta and feel very lucky to have this right on our doorstep.
Went for a lovely walk and found a seclued pond in a grassy area with orchids growing near. Some of the grass is mowed, other areas are left wild. Looked at the deer, both fallow and red deer. Visited the rose garden, the flowers were amazing and smelled sweet. There are plenty of benches to rest on.
Went for a lovely spring walk. So many different routes to take. Lots of dog walkers, runners cyclists and people like us just enjoying a walk in nature.
I love going to Asthon Court. There are so many paths and routes to take. What I like most is that there is a wide range of different habitats in a relatively small space - every woodland is slightly different and you get everything from orchids, bluebells, wild garlic, skylarks, woodpeckers, ravens, buzzards and so on and so on.
Lovely building and beautiful garden. Lots of land to walk, ride or dog walking. At the end of the trail there is a cafe recommended by everybody around.
