Astley Street Park is a scenic green space in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, featuring walking trails, a children's playground, and sports facilities, including a football pitch and tennis courts. The park also boasts a picturesque pond, surrounded by lush vegetation and a variety of wildlife, making it a popular spot for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful escape.
We've been coming here for years and it's a great park. Lots of different areas for the kids to play; swings, roundabout, climbing frames, sandpit, see-saw, zip wire, outdoor gym, football pitches and more.
The park has very limited parking with only 10 spaces available and people parking poorly over two spaces, which isn't the parks fault but still, first impressions. We then proceeded to the overgrown grass area where the grass hasn't been cut despite no longer being no mow may. Dogs running loose with no leads, which again is fine however people with small children should be aware. The "gym area" is well maintained, dirty but again what do you expect, it's full of dirt which is fine, what isn't fine is the fact there is litter as far as the eye can see. Trying to swing with my son and there is rubbish scattered around everywhere. I look to my left and a strange elderly man is stood watching children play, I look to my right and see children fist fighting, one might think atleast I can close my eyes and listen to nature but unfortunately this isn't the case, you close your eyes and all you can hear is vulgarity being shouted by young children. Don't bother coming here, no toilets, pretty poor overall.
Any sort of green space is a good space. But I do remember the putting green ,the crown green bowls. It was a great place for all. When the concil did more than just cut the grass. The concil getting away with doing the minimum.
Lovely park, playground for smaller children plus high energy equipment for older children / teens. Kept clean and tidy by a team of volunteers. Dog friendly.
Is the best place to have fun with your kids
