These circular ditches & ridges on a hilltop mark the former site of an Iron Age fort.
It's easily accessible. The site is just a 5 minute walk from the car park. You can choose to walk around the periphery on easy grassed terrain or directly into the centre on a semi hard surface. Alternatively you can walk up and over the rings (ditches) on steps or narrow pathways, along steep ascents and descents. Lovely views overlooking the surrounding countryside. Ideal for a family day out and a picnic.
Had a really lovely walk all around with stunning views on such a lovely day . A shame that some people did not read the sign about keeping dogs on leads due to nesting birds. Will def go again. Nice circular walk too.
Beautiful elevated walk around the ancient "rings". Free 360 degree views over miles of glorious Dorset countryside. Plenty of free parking but the short track from the road to the car park is currently dreadful with big potholes to navigate around. Only a few minutes drive from the NT's Kingston Lacy estate. A real "must visit" destination on a lovely sunny day.
A great view from the top but the horse from a distance wasn't very distinguishable. As I said though the view from the top overlooking the surrounding area was amazing.
This was my first visit and I loved it here. Lots of lovely walks and views. Would visit here every day if I could. Ideal for walking and perfect for dog walking. Hope to be back next year.
Large carpark.. Need good walking shoes to walk. Lovely views. Reached highest point.
