This 130-acre park is home to a large herd of fallow deer, as well as other animals such as goats, pigs, and birds. Visitors can walk among the deer and feed them, and there are also walking trails, a play area, and a café on site. The park's natural beauty features woodland, meadows, and a large lake, making it a peaceful and scenic destination.
Had a fantastic tour, Richard was absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable. My 3yr old and 5yr old loved it. I didn't expect the deer to come so close to the car but it was an incredible experience. Thankyou for a memorable time. I couldn't reccomend booking enough! There's also a great cafe/ restaurant on site to have some food while taking in the views and watching the deer. Indoor and outdoor seating.
What an amazing experience, 5 of us did the pre booked hour long guided tour in a 4x4 and learned so much about the deers and wildlife and how the park all started, the guide was very knowledgeable and knew the deers individually. We stayed for lunch afterwards in the cafe, the food was fresh and very tasty. The bacon, brie, and cranberry toasted ciabatta and the pulled pork burger are recommended. Staff were attentive and polite. A***** from my family.
We first spotted their sign whilst touring around & then looked this place up on Google maps. It looked so amazing that we booked a tour. Our guide/driver Rona was excellent & knew all the deer-related facts worth knowing. It was fascinating being driven through their environment & seeing deer stick their heads through Rona's window to be fed. Luckily we chose a clear day & the views over Sandyhills beach & across to Cumbria were just fab. We finished off with a drink & cake in their cafe, the lady who served us was really jolly & welcoming. This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our Scottish trip.
Our 4x4 tour exceeded all our expectations. With the extremely knowledgeable (and funny) Rona as our guide, we learned about the Red, Sika, and Roe deer at the park (though we didn't see the Roe deer, as they are crepuscular). The tour takes you very close to the deer, offering both a magical experience and plenty of photo opportunities. We cannot recommend this location, this tour, and this guide highly enough. And such a good deal for what you get! Also, the food at the cafe is quite good, and there's a lot of interesting stuff in the little shop, too!
Absolutely LOVED our first visit, as recommended by a friend. We received the warmest of welcomes ... thank you! Aside from the excitement of seeing and learning about the deer, there were many gluten free options available, which for me as coeliac, was a delight! Thanks you for an exceptional visit. We will be back when we're next in the area. You deserve every success.
A amazing day. Booked onto a tour which was full of Deer sightings and full of information about the Deer and the aims of the park. A splendid cafe on site with friendly staff. A "got to go to" place. The tour is recommended.
