A serene and picturesque lake in the heart of the Peak District National Park, surrounded by rolling hills and lush greenery, offering scenic walking trails, picnic spots, and opportunities for fishing and boating.
Lovely little pond near a nature reserve. Lots of bird poop so be aware when getting back into the car
When nature is beautiful why destroy it with your litter? Thankfully less litter this time, still beautiful
Lovely local pond nice to walk around, with added water meadow.
Local dog walk, kiddie walk and duck feeding spot - keep an eye out for the fish too! Nice to wander around the pond and adjacent nature reserve too. Sadly often problems with litter and the need to be vigilant for dog mess. Info board give a potted history of the local area, and warns not to feed the ducks... the friendly ducks clearly aren't aware of this ;-) If you follow the 'fairy door trail' through from the duck pond, through the grazing water meadow area and through Woar Copse you end up in Doe Copse Way where if you follow the footpath further you come to a small but well kept playground suitable for toddlers upto around 10yrs.
Absolutely beautiful area! I come down here frequently with my friends as the meadow behind is absolutely stunning! If you come to new milton, come to ballard lake.
Only went there for an full English breakfast on nice sunny Sunday morning. Freshly made with what seemed like farm shop food quality, especially the sausages.
