This 16th-century castle is a majestic sight, surrounded by 75 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and woodland. The castle's architecture is a mix of medieval and Victorian styles, with towers, turrets, and battlements, while the interior boasts opulent decor, intricate wood carvings, and ornate ceilings. The gardens feature a variety of plants and flowers, including a rock garden, a rose garden, and a woodland walk. Visitors can explore the castle's state rooms, including the grand dining room, the library, and the lavish bedrooms. The castle also hosts special events and exhibitions throughout the year.
Visited after a distillery tour. Beautiful castle and gardens. Lovely walks, you could be here all day. Everywhere was beautifully maintained and clean. The gardens where well looked after. We ate in the tea rooms, couldn't fault anything. The food was delicious. All the staff were friendly and informative. We were so pleased we stopped.
An absolutely stunning setting for one of the best Scottish baronial castles I've visited. The chap on the gate is brilliant, as is the chap on the entrance (apologies, I didn't get names). The interior is as beautiful as the exterior and there are loads of rooms to see, and the walled garden and grounds are superb. A great way to spend day, would 100% recommend a visit.
Absolutely stunning gardens. We visited in Mid May and were treated to spectacular rhododendron and azalea fireworks. The rose garden looked about two weeks away from putting on a display. The castle tour is well worth the visit and is well-documented. One of my favorite stops in Scotland
Firstly bought tickets online, which was a easy process. Ballindalloch castle and garden is one of scotlands finest. Beautiful maintained garden, stunning lawns. Immaculate walled garden, lovely outdoor walks,we liked river walk best, nice bench next to river half way round. Inside the castle beautiful kept rooms, plenty to see, interesting in every room. Letter they found from Rob roy on display. ALL staff where polite and friendly. NO PHOTOGRAPHY IN CASTLE. The cafe had good food and drink. Toilets hotel standards. Childrens play area picnic benches. The cafe serves beautiful food well presented on the plate. A full day to be had if you do the walks too.
This is a lovely estate and walled garden. A summer visit affords shady strolls down to the stone bridge and gate just past the hillside rock garden. The walled garden is filled with roses and the rhododendron must be stunning in spring!
Visited this week and met Jeff Craig upon arriving at the castle. Such a warm and interesting personality and a great ambassador for the castle. Very knowledgeable and professional whilst still being great fun. Was well worth visiting to to have met him. The stairs are a killer, wouldn't like to be going up and down those everyday...
