This 18th-century cotton mill, now a museum, showcases the region's industrial heritage with its preserved machinery, spinning jennies, and waterwheel, offering a glimpse into the lives of mill workers during the Industrial Revolution.
I recently visited Bamford Mill, a peaceful and relaxing tourist attraction located in a village area. The mill itself was interesting to explore, with a rich history and unique architecture. But what I enjoyed most about the visit was the calming atmosphere of the place - it's the perfect spot to unwind and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you're looking for a relaxing and enjoyable experience, Bamford Mill is definitely worth a visit!"
This is a really nice little spot. Please be aware that people live here, so use the public path down the side only. It is worth having a look around for 10-15 minutes.
A hidden gem! Just off the main street through a lane of cottages you come to a walk with a lake, streams, and a lovely bridge with stepping stones. This takes you to open fields and into the peak district if you want a bigger walk.
The scene was beautiful and easy to get to. However, there is no path where you can walk along the river, which is a shame.
Flooded paths, after Storm Babet so couldn't do the walk. Car parking difficult.
Serene. Beautiful place. Locals are rude and aloof and wont smile or return a greeting when offered but the place outshines their ego's
Wheelchair-accessible car park
