A tranquil oasis in the heart of London, Barnes Green is a charming village green surrounded by historic buildings, boutique shops, and traditional pubs. The green itself is a picturesque spot for picnics, people-watching, and relaxation, with its lush grass, mature trees, and vibrant flowerbeds.
Nice quiet park that has a pond that attracts lots of wildlife. Picnic benches and lots of open spaces to chill and relax. There is a coffee shop here that also sells hot food, park is located in central Barnes to accessing shops is less that 5 mins walk.
Beautiful quaint 'village' of London. Due to it's geographical position not many come here, but certainly worth a visit. There is not a month where you can't find a flower blossoming...or a friendly cat to pet...or be stared at! There is a wide range of independent cafes and restaurants to choose from to satisfy your pallet.
A very beautiful park with a large lake with many ducks, some swans and unfortunately a lot of seagulls. It has wide open spaces which are great for dogs and adjacent is an arts centre with cafe which provides snacks and hot/cold beverages. Cote has also recently opened up again and has large glass windows with Greta view into the park. Every now and then there is a antiques fair and live music. From here you can walk down to Barnes Common which is a large nature reserve. A great walk and day out.
Lovely green area next to the pond. It is hard not to bump into lots of other lovely dogs so it is my dog's favourite spot in Barnes. There is a swan pair who raise their cygnets every year, in the pond and you can often see them walking them over to where they nest by Beverly Brook. It is very cute! The OSO arts centre is in the centre which usually has really beautiful seasonal floral arrangements on the outside. They have a nice cafe and sell glasses of takeaway bubbly! In the summer they did live jazz outside every Sunday and everyone sat around on the green with picnics.
A beautifully green area thriving with life. Barnes Green is worth wandering around especially the lake which is graced by a number of swans and their many young. Other birds congregate in this area and can often be seen circling the island in the middle of the lake in large numbers.
