Waterside facility offering boat trips along the canal & a shop for ice cream & gifts.
We took our Grandchildren here this afternoon and enjoyed a short Canal Trip. The people were lovely and the trip took around 40 minutes. We then went for a walk around the Lakes and fed the various water birds, Swans,Canada Geese, Cootes and Gulls. We all had a lovely time, its well worth a visit and very reasonable prices. See photos. Highly recommended.
Hired 2 barges for 21 people to spread ashes, private charter. Everyone was fantastic, got lucky with the weather. Also able to do what we needed, with a local charity rather than a privately owned business. Would recommend this to everyone.
I took the little boy I look after (he's 4) on this canal boat trip. It was a slightly drizzly day in July but we loved it! We had the whole boat to ourselves, with the captain at the other end. We were able to buy food for the ducks and geese on the journey. It was a very peaceful outing
Warm welcome and information about centre. We were the only 2 people on the cruise with a friendly/informative skipper
I went as part of the Batchworth canal festival, which was far less busier than the Rickmansworth festival. What let it down for me was the toilet facilities. Toilets are a basic human need and shouldn't be donated for or have to ask for a key, this causes embarrassment. Apart from that I did enjoy it.
Excellent cafe at the side of the canal serving drinjs and food. Friendly staff. Chairs and tables to sit at. Delicious cake. Nice spot to have a break from a walk or cycle ride and watch the world go by.
On-site services
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Getting tickets in advance recommended
Good for kids
