This 130-acre park features a large lake, walking trails, and a variety of wildlife, including birds, fish, and insects. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, birdwatching, and relaxing in the peaceful surroundings. The park also has a children's play area, a cafe, and a visitor center with information about the park's history and wildlife.
Lovely walk around the park and the reservoir. Car park has a c.2m height barrier, but there is a lane opposite where we were able to park out of the way.
With the history of the famous black Panther story, it's a well-kept, clean park. There are rugby pitches and ski slopes, and it's a nice place to escape and gather one's thoughts. Also, the railway line runs through alongside. What would enhance this park further? Possibly some public toilets and a cafe. Although there is a lovely pub at the top of the hill, well, worth a visit. The pub is called the Rifleman. Happy walks, people.
We stopped here for a short walk, picnic and a read in really peaceful surroundings. There were a few people walking around with their dogs that were having a fab time (and swim) in the lake. Occasional trains passing by but otherwise very quiet and a lovely hour spent here.
Great for walking the dog, my only issue is the water leak at the tunnel which has been persistent for years.
Lovely park for dog walking, nice childrens play park . If only people would collect up after their dogs. It would be great if cyclists and joggers would remember that they are not the priority. Also, the number of men sitting in cars on the Peacock Hayes Road carpark can be unnerving to lone women.
Great for dog walks and the dogs can have a swim in the smaller pool! It has a flat path most of the way around, which makes it an easy walk for prams and wheelchair users, also very popular with cyclists. The walk through the woods can get very muddy and quite uneven in places. From Acres Nook car park the walk is quieter, walking past fields and woods and usually there are less people about From that end. From the Boathouse road car park there are more people and especially children around and there is a great little play area with swings. Plenty of benches, pic nic tables, dog poo bins and litter bins, a shame not everyone uses them. No toilet facilities. Occasionally an ice cream van parks up in the car park off Boathouse Road.
