Beachside Holiday Park is a family-run holiday park specialising in family holidays right on the beach in St Ives Bay, Cornwall. With a less commerical environment, Beachside is the perfect location for a short break or summer beach holiday. We offer a wide range of accommodation, from economical chalets through to luxurious seafront lodges. We also offer touring and camping pitches, suitable for caravans, motorhomes or tents, with or without electric hook-up. On site facilities include a seasonal family restaurant & bar, outdoor heated swimming pool and shop. We also have a surf school, segway experience, games room, bar, launderette and children's playgrounds on site. Beachside Holiday Park is open from Easter to the end of October.
We have been visiting the Towans at Hayle for over seven years now and enjoy our visit every time we come. This year marks our 8th year of visiting the area and our first year of staying at Beachside. We were fortunate enough to have stayed in one of the seafront lodges which has amazing views of the bay of st Ives and located with a short stroll down the dunes to 3 miles of golden sands and in my opinion, the best undiscovered beech in Cornwall.||Accommodation: I would highly recommend the Seafront lodges at Beachside. They are modern, clean, tidy and well maintained. The views are outstanding and we loved waking up to the view of Carbis Bay and St Ives each morning. Additionally, we had a dedicated parking spot which was great.||Beach Access: Access to the beach from the seafront lodges is excellent with only a short walk down the dunes along an unmade path. Yes, it can be a little climb back up but not as bad as other places we have stayed locally at. Still highly recommended.||Coast Bar: A great venue with amazing views overlooking the bay of st Ives. Amazing staff who are always welcoming and the food quality of fantastic. Certainly better than our expectations and had many meals in the coast bar.||The Dune Bar: A great little Bar outside with the best views in Cornwall. ||Swimming Pool: The pool was great and a good size. Only negative was it could have been a little bit warmer. However, we used the pool daily and enjoyed it every time.||Entertainment: The site is not Butlins nor Haven but, they put on a range of different activities for the family to enjoy from walks with Steve West through to live entertainment, quizzes and disco's. A great balance of entertainment for everyone to enjoy.||All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
Liked: Nice pool, great location so close to the beach. The food in the restaurant was good and the staff were all lovely. Live music down on the edge of the dunes was really good and there is a massive play field for everything like football, volleyball and cricket. The showers and toilets were well maintained and the wetsuit wash area was a good addition to use on the way back from the beach Disliked: The toilet block was a bit of a trek to get to. Our pitch wasn't the flattest and the bedroom was on a fair slope.
The location is amazing and is situated adjacent to Hayle beach, which is an impressive 3 miles of golden sand. The site has some nice new facilities (recently refurbished bar, for example). However, the majority of accommodation is really very dated and generally quite uncomfortable. If you spend the majority of your time on the beach or away from the accommodation, it's not a major issue, but when the weather turns, it does feel a little inadequate. The staff are generally fine, but the reception staff can have a bullish and unhelpful attitude. Do not expect any flexibility regarding site entry times. They won't make any exceptions even when the property has been cleaned and finished early. You are not even allowed to park outside of it until property handover time! Prices on site have sharply increased in the last few years. A pint of local IPA is PS6.30 amd a glass of wine PS8.95. The on-site shop has stopped stocking practical items that you might need but has got you covered if you have a need for organic and vegan friendly confectionary and cakes costing a small fortune. We have been repeat customers, but I feel our time coming to this holiday park has come to an end.||
This is our sixth trip to Beachside and the site is still as lovely as ever. Such beautiful location which can't be beaten. We stayed in an apartment again and they have everything that you need to make it a great stay. The kitchen is compact but the cooker is quick and the dishwasher well used. It is fantastic to have a washing machine and the indoor patio area is a lovely spot to sit or dry your wetsuits. The bar has fantastic views and the food is tasty with a quick service, but agree with another reviewer, the shop does not sell basics that you need anyore which is a shame. However, there are plenty of supermarkets in Hayle, so you just need to be organised. | Have booked again for next year already.
We first stayed at beachside Holiday camp over 25 years ago with our own children, it was great back then. We have recently spent 4 nights camping with our grandson. . It's a great site for all the family. Very clean and the staff were really helpful and friendly. The camping pitches are a good size with access able facilities for pushchairs and wheelchairs. We would recommend Beachside to anyone wanting to camp or stay in the accommodation they offer at very reasonable prices. We are already looking to book another stay here.
We've just had a week here camping. We absolutely loved it. Our pitch size was generous despite some communication as our tent is pretty large and they didn't have Large pitches left, but we had loads of room. Toilets were always clean and plenty of toilet roll. Showers looked cleanish except after some messy customers! Plenty of hot water. Never had to queue for toilets or showers. Dish washing room had plenty of sinks, never saw a queue. Pool was warm and could only be improved by providing some umbrellas for the more sunburn-prone amongst us! There is a large field for football/kite flying right at the top of the beach, a bar at the top of the beach and surf hut right on site. The beach is beautiful, perfect in fact. Restaurant/bar had quite a bit of choice and adults and kids were happy with all our meals. (Best to book in advance at busy times.) Great position, close to main roads for exploring the area. We are not return campers as we like visiting new places and trying new areas, however we are very keen to come back some time. Thanks for a wonderful holiday!
