A modern, eco-friendly building nestled in the heart of the Forest of Bowland, offering interactive exhibits, displays, and educational activities that showcase the area's unique geology, wildlife, and cultural heritage, surrounded by scenic walking trails and stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Lots of small free car parks if you can find a space. However, it's only PS1 to park all day in the main one! Three great waymarked routes. Good views from the summit. Well maintained paths. A very peaceful place with plenty of birdsong, small ponds, woods and deer. Easy to leave country park and walk other longer footpaths if that's your thing. Cafe was lovely. Great sausage butty and hot coffee after an hours walk. The viewing window was a nice touch. We sat with another family and saw lots of wildlife, birds, a squirrel, and a bank vole. The only downside is that the car park payment machines do not take cash (as they've been stolen in the past), so you must have a card to pay, or try and find a space in one of the smaller free car parks. There are toilets but we did not use.
Amazing, relaxed, rural location for a chilled walk with kids & dog. Views from the trigg point across to Morecombe Bay, Blackpool, and Southern Lakes is awesome. Great visitor centre, plenty of parking and cafe.
A superb day out. Loads to do. Great venue
Lovely quiet place with lots of great walks, pity the sun didn't shine. The cafe and visitors centre closes at half three apparently.
Lovely place to visit. Grab a brew and comfort break before you set off on your walk. Great little walk, family and dog friendly.
Had some brunch, quick walk around there are some wonderful views. Also walked around Brigham Rocks which was a short drive fascinating amass of Large Boulders atop of each other.
