A single-track road that winds its way up Beinn Eighe, the highest mountain on the British mainland, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and the sea, with steep gradients, tight hairpin bends, and stunning scenery.
Magnificent views and superb driving experience... Great nature spot, a true gem... Crossed on a cloudy and windy day but still beautiful memories and experience... It's a must see place and a must drive route... ( Petty that some drivers ignore signs and take motorhomes this route making it difficult for other drivers )
You will definitely enjoy that view that you will have here The road is easier to drive as we expected earlier, but you shouldn't try it with the too long vehicle
Visited this place in August this year on our week long road trip into the highlands. The drive is very difficult and tricky. Need to be very very careful, not recommended for new drivers and also strictly a no no in the winter, There is a warning at the base about it. But the experience and the view is 100% worth it, the surreal scenery when you drive between tall mountains is breathtaking.
Well worth a visit. Fantastic scenery. A route to remember.
Excellent driving experience complimented by amazing views especially from the top. Not as diffucult as I'd expected it to be but was very careful and patient plus, it wasn't busy which probably helped.
Done in a 7 m motorhome. Ignore the signs if you're visiting in dry conditions. If you can drive and not panic, you could very very easily do this. The views are obviously insane if you start west and go east.
Good for kids
