Tranquil park offering trails on over 300 acres of woodlands, flower meadows, grasslands & lakes.
Belhus Woods is a nice place to take a walk and have some family time. A little cafe on site, a forest ramble, a unique kids' playground that is made of wood, including climbing frames, musical instruments and a sand pit. The lake is nice to feed the ducks, but beware of the hill leading down to the lake, toddlers can easily fall into the water. Sometimes you find horse riders going by, which my toddler loves seeing. Worth a visit!
Lovely place for a walk around, lake, can do fishing , horse paths for riding, and a play park. Perfect for a picnic. Have to pay for parking PS4.80 for 2hrs.
A place That was embedded in my childhood memory, I used to cycle from South Ockendon(belhus estate) through cornfields pass snake island(end of long pond) past the witch tower (kiln tower) through to romford road where entrance is, had a great day but boy it has changed! Now large lakes, children play areas and many more walking paths, Parking : we paid PS4 for two hrs Cafe: small, coffee, drinks, ice creams available no sandwich or rolls on our Tuesday visit, Toilets (clean) Dogs must be kept on lead One minor moan is lack of signage, once your off main path from cafe we found very little help especially in the kiln Wood area, some posts have arrows but no info, ie walking time to a certain place or how long roughly and which direction to say, cafe
Lovely place to walk the dog and a great park for the kids. The dog also got her first doggie icecream that they sell in their little cafe. Have to pay for parking even the disabled bays but worth it.
Lovely place with a cafe and toilets. Water tap for the hounds . Paid parking seems to deter the hooligan element. Enclosed field and agility area (if not booked it's first come ) . Kids play area is always popular . You can explore as little or as vast as you like. Lots of paths and meadow , benches around the park.
Belhus is a lovely park and forest, great for dog walking, just walking, kids play area, fishing lakes. TAKE YOUR RUBBISH HOME OR PUT IT IN A DESIGNATED BIN!
