Stretching 1,214m (3,984ft) into the sky, Ben Lawers is one of Scotland's highest munros.
We took a very scenic drive from Callander up past Loch Lubnaig to Killin. The road up to Ben Lawers is a single track road with plenty of passing places. The drive up into the mountains past Ben Lawers dam has amazing scenery and plenty of sheep at the side of the road. Beautiful run to take the family.
Great walk. Went when the weather wasn't so great a few months ago. The visibility was poor, but I had a map and compass to guide me - but we were fine a majority of the time due to a clear set out path. Note that there is a crossing over the peak of Beinn Ghlas too, which is often missed. The walk between peaks is fairly long and the assent is fairly steep and zig zags a bit. Took about 4 hours and 15 minutes to cross over both.
First Munro along with ben glass. Great walk not too testing if you pace yourself and take your time
Fantastic place. Stunning scenery. And Mountain Ringlet!
Fantastic area for hill walkers. Five Munros to bag and can be done in a full day. Scenery is outstanding in all directions. Close to Killen which has good watering holes and eating. A remote area when on the hills and run by National Trust for Scotland.
Beautiful Highland scenery and a haven for botanists who seek rare alpine plants.
