Berkeley Castle is a beautiful and historic Castle, built in 1153 and still the home of the Berkeley family. It is a great day-out for all the family, hosting special events during school holidays and throughout the year.
An absolutely stunning venue, I visited in August for a wedding and the food, staff and tour guides went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had an amazing time. One of the male bar staff, a chap from the Czech Republic, was particularly helpful and provided A-Class service to all the guests. He is a real asset to the Berkley Castle team. All in all a great experience and I would certainly recommend this venue to anyone planning a large party which they want everyone to remember.
This feels more like a manor and gardens than a castle. Little ones would probably get bored here as it's a lot of reading and old cups. There is an activity book for children to keep them entertained but didn't seem to keep them engaged. Had a really good show from ZooLabs where we got to hold animals such as rats and snails. Overall a nice day out but could do with more things to do for little ones!
This place was spectacular! A castle with a family history back to medieval times, with some of the descendants still living there! If you go, DEFINITELY get a guide, and if you can, get Eleanor, she is AMAZING! So knowledgeable, but also fun! She made the whole experience truly enjoyable!
Great castle to visit. Excellent to walk through each room varying in scale, grandure and purpose. View to the South is lovely from the forecourt. New resturant is excellent with plenty of seating.
We had an absolutely stunning wedding here late last summer. A truly gorgeous castle and grounds, rich in fascinating history. Guests loved it. We can't wait to visit again as tourists! Full review on Berkeley Castle Weddings Google reviews
