Bernwood Forest is a 1,000-acre ancient woodland in Buckinghamshire, England, featuring a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees, including oak, beech, and pine. The forest floor is carpeted with bluebells, wild garlic, and other wildflowers in the spring, and its many trails offer opportunities for walking, cycling, and horse riding. The forest is also home to a variety of wildlife, including fallow deer, muntjac deer, and birds such as the nightjar and the tawny owl.
My dogs and I recently discovered this place and loved it from the first time. It is practical with a medium-sized parking area. The grounds are clean and it is enormous! You can follow the paths or adventure through the trees and find more paths. The only downside is that there is only one dog bin at the entrance (or at least I've only seen one) it would be nice to have some more. I would really recommend it for a morning out with family and/or dogs.
It's a beautiful place, sadly it is heavily populated by dog owners with no recall control over their dogs. If you have a nervous dog, you won't get far without another dog/pack of dogs charging up to you which makes for a stressful dog walk. The space is truly amazing and 100% worth a visit. -Thanks to those who do leash up their dogs to walk by and the ones with great recall
Great place for a walk. Car park is usually busy but once you get out and about it's very quiet. Just one thing dog walkers? Putting the poo in a bag and hanging it in a tree is not cleaning up after yourself and your dog
Great place for walks and to let the children forage and explore the woodlands. Free carpark which is adequate enough as the place wasn't too busy. Please note the carpark does have a height restriction (2m).
Lovely place for a dog walk, large and lots of different paths
Lovely peaceful place, nicely built walkways inside so still possible to have a nice walk even in wet weather. Maintained well. We will be back!
