Bexhill Museum is open six days a week and Bank Holidays, 11:00am to 4:00pm. Come and see our unique collections. Everything from dinosaur footprints to the history of the town's iconic De la Warr Pavilion. Plus everything in between, and Eddie Izzard's amazing model railways.
Please, just go here ) 10 times more interesting than I expected, spent as much time here as I would at the v&a or science museum. especially good place for a local resident. Amazing volunteer staff all happy to chat and explain exhibits, felt like family, coffee good and cheap, gift shop great. Watch the 60s video, you will want to move here, Bexhill is awesome, feel better about living nearby! Who knew. Even usually boring facts were not somehow.
Great little museum spread across two floors focusing on Bexhill and the local area. There are a couple of model railways here too which prove to be popular. I particularly liked the area which showed clothing and toys, etc going back in time. Managed to pop in here during the Bexhill After Dark event. Definitely worth visiting if in the area (small fee to enter normally).
A small museum with many interesting exhibits. The best part for me was the delightful snow scene of Bexhill town portrayed as a train set layout during the second World war
Great little museum! Lots of wonderful, well-considered displays and thoughtfully curated. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff who were happy to explain in further detail. Both my daughter (7) and son (19 months) enjoyed themselves. Thank you to all involved-we highly recommend!
What a special place .So well laid out and interesting.Well documented artifacts and historical events.A must to see when in Bexhill with family.Staff are incredibly knowledgeable and so very helpful .I would rate it as one of the best museums. THANK YOU
Exceeded all expectation. There is something for everyone in what is a pretty large museum. We went to see the model railways (which were amazing) but there was so much other stuff we were blown away. My wife particularly loved the costumes that were in a sort of time tunnel. Hats off to whoever put that together. To see the Volta and Elvar was also something special but there is still lots more.... Special mention to the volunteer staff. They were most welcoming and were happy to engage with visitors to shed more light on the exhibits. 5 all round.
