Amazing ruins amd very well informed by the info boards both inside and out! Good close parking amd the town is wonderful too, bule sure to cross the road for the pond with ducks, swans, moorhens, water vole and fish!
Beautiful location on a glorious summer's day. Immaculate grounds and interesting history boards showcasing this 12th century palace, once home to the Bishops of Winchester. It's free entry and open until 6pm in the summer months. Lovingly cared for by English Heritage.
Second year I have attended the ceilidh at Bishops Waltham Palace. A wonderful family event where generations dance together to ancient songs. A popular event with the locals.
Gorgeous place, beautiful grounds and some very interesting ruins, as well as the museum available at the weekend from lunchtime. Lots of information about the different parts of the palace and the history of it. Plenty of picnic benches too, perfect for a spot of lunch! Free to enter too, so even more to recommend it!!
