This rugged and windswept tor stands at 402 meters, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding moorland and countryside. Its unique shape, resembling a giant's fist, is formed by three distinct granite outcrops, each one slightly smaller than the last, giving the impression of a series of giant stepping stones. The tor's summit is marked by a scattering of rocks and a few hardy trees that have adapted to the harsh, exposed conditions. On a clear day, the views from the top stretch as far as the Cornish coast, making it a popular spot for hikers and nature lovers.
Beautiful walk not to challenging worth the effort for the views. It does say its not a circular walk but we managed to find away round up to the Tor and back round over the dam. Plenty of sheep cows and ponies to be seen on the walk. A great way to spand a few hours in nature.
Quite the walk if you've got a backpack, but the views are outstanding. You WILL get caught by the wind, I would suggest ensuring you wrap up warm or cover your face/nose.
Glorious wild camping with views of the sunset
Great walk from the reservoir car park
