A picturesque waterfall located in the heart of the Peak District National Park, Black Water Falls is a breathtaking natural wonder that cascades down a rocky slope, creating a misty veil that surrounds the area. The waterfall's source is the Black Brook, which flows from the nearby Kinder Scout plateau, and its waters tumble over moss-covered rocks and boulders, creating a mesmerizing display of power and beauty.
It's a parking site for campervans with a toilet block! Black water falls are absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend a stop-over here. If you're careful you can sit on the rocks in the water. Very beautiful and relaxing place.
Great waterfall to see and it's right next to the car park so it's easy to get to. You can walk on further along the river if you wanted to do as well. There are also toilets available here too.
Excellent scenic area. Lovely waterfalls and forest walks. Have previously kayaked this river and advise it is very dangerous and unsuitable for swimming due to undercuts and undercurrents.
Just find the path along the river and look for a spot to get good views of the waterfalls. The dark rivers in this area are wonderful
Found this little walk by chance during a long drive to our accommodation and decided to stretch our legs and walk our border collie. What a lovely little find, stunning river and falls. Our collie was off lead the whole way and the car park we found was free. There is another at the top of the falls which is pay and display and has toilets.
I really have no idea why this place is higher recommended. The river looks really makes me feel uncomfortable even I know the reason. It's like some kind of factory waste water freely dumped into the river. Just don't waste your time in there, water is toxic, better not to try jump into it.
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Good for kids
