Blackmore Gardens is a 4-acre botanical garden featuring a variety of plants, flowers, and trees. The gardens are divided into different sections, including a sensory garden, a rose garden, and a woodland walk. Visitors can explore the gardens along meandering paths and discover hidden features, such as a pond, a fountain, and a statue. The gardens also offer a tea room serving refreshments and a plant shop selling a range of plants and gardening supplies.
This was at Sidmouth Festival inside a marquee. There were some very interesting stalls outside the marquee. We had a great view inside the marquee.
Discovered these pretty and well-kept little gardens while exploring Sidmouth. They are close to the parish church, more accessible than nearby Connaught Gardens, with level tarmac paths and no steps. Plenty of benches. The gardens were once part of a private estate, and there's some interesting information near the entrance about their history and that of the now demolished Blackmore Hall. There are lawns, colourful flower borders, wooded paths, a small conservatory and car parking close by. A tranquil little place to enjoy some relaxation away from the bustle of the town centre.
