Located near Stirling, Blair Drummond Safari Park is Scotland's most exciting visitor attraction and the perfect place for a family day out. It is home to over 300 rare and exotic animals, including giraffes, tigers, elephant, rhinos, zebra, penguins, meerkats, lemurs, lions and more. You can drive your own car through the animal reserves and get up close to a pride of lions. Keep an eye out for the cheeky monkeys in the Safari Park's famous Macaque Drive-Thru! Included in your entry price is the amazing new 'Dinosaurs' exhibit. Behind huge Jurassic Park-style gates lies a pre-historic forest for you to explore. But watch out! It is home to over twenty moving, stomping, screeching, life-size dinosaurs. ROARsome!
First visit in 30 years with the third generation! Booked in advance, in the Park from 11am till 4pm . Did not manage to see everything will have to come back. Such fun was had by all the family. My favourite was getting up close to the tigers with just an electric fence between us and the enclosure. Walkabout, so much to see and enjoyed the training session with sealions. Amazing drive through safari, capturing the animals so close to cars. I even managed to climb up the huge wooden building in the play park with the kids and cross the rope bridge, just remembered not to look down! Sat on a picnic bench eating delicious freshly cooked doughnuts, drinking coffee and then time for a wee bit of retail shopping in the "Pocket Money". Wonderful day out creating happy memories. Thanks to all the staff.
Very good place to spend a day at, lots of animals to see and the seal show was cool. There is also a giant playground, and lots of food and drinks to choose from. Would go again, and would recommend. The best way to enter is through the enclosures that are supposed to be entered with a car. don't drive through the other enclosures.
Incredible amount of stuff to see and do. Driving through the animal enclosure was fun and good view points to explore on foot for visiting the other animals. Birds of prey presentation was a highlight, definitely worth catching to see the owls and hawks swooping close to you. Dinosaur section was also interesting and engaging to explore. Brilliant play areas for kids including covered sections, chutes, climbing and sand play. Also has amusement rides which we didn't have time for. Lots of covered seating to eat, have coffee or get ice cream. Selection of food stalls and restaurants or can bring packed lunches. Will need to visit again to explore the parts we missed and try different animal talks. You needed to pre-book tickets online before entering when we went.
Overall It was a good experience, you can have both safari and walking experience to see the animals . Animals are mostly next to each other, so we don't have to do long walks with kids . If you plan prior, you can use the barbecue as well. The kids play area is really good as well and it costs 10 pounds for 5 tokens . Slide with Sack/mat is free . A really good place for a day out with kids . Seal shows give you a nice touch for the experience. If you want to make this trip educational then plan a little with a map and visit each place based on talk times. Well organised and maintained zoo .
Animals are very playful, it was nice seeing all little to big animals. Recommended to family and friends for a day out. There's barbecue stands available as well, we didnt use it but i think people can book it and bring their own items to barbecue there ;)
It was nice visiting there, the place is just awesome. Very nice and beautiful. Perfect place to make weekend/ holiday memorable. All animals were nice, except rhinos, don't know why they didn't look nice or dirty. Was just wondering that why elephant was inside as he seems to be a very social animal, may the time we visited he was in. Drive through is just adventure and breath taking. In addition to animal, a lot of food options the play place with sand and rides is just all the kids want, my baby loved the sand playing.
