A picturesque beach surrounded by towering cliffs, featuring a large, tranquil lagoon with crystal-clear turquoise water, perfect for swimming and snorkeling, and a scenic coastal walk offering breathtaking views of the coastline.
Stayed in St David's Camping & Caravan club site. The site is well maintained with nice friendly staff. A little hell raising driving through the tight single lane roads with the caravan but once at the site the scenery is beautiful. A shot walk to the blue Lagoon is amazing. I also recommend the short drive to Porthgain. It's a beautiful old port with an amazing fish & Chip restaurant and pub.
We took a drive out to Abereiddi (30 min walk if staying at Caravan & Camping club site) on a beautiful but cold early April evening. Easy enough to get to although as you will expect in this area, most points of interest are down single track lanes. You can park directly on the beach, a suitably sized free car park, which I imagine fills up quick in the summer months. We were greeted by a group of wild swimmers taking an evening dip and thought they must be mad, while at the same time praising their get up and go spirit. The Blue Lagoon is only a short, moderate walk of about 5 to 10 minutes. If you're not planning on swimming, we would highly recommend a cliff top walk as some of the views are just spectacular.
It was an hour's drive from Pembroke Dock where we were staying. The place has its own parking space and no charge. The hike was moderate level and the view from the top was fantastic, the pathway was a bit rocky and needed to climb carefully and also when you get down. There was a bit easier pathway to reach the lagoon and the water was cold. You can have a dip in the water but there are safety instructions that you have to follow Overall it was a refreshing trip to do.
It's a great little site if you fancy a cool plunge into the depths of the quarry sea. Lovely blue, clear waters. Plenty of activity groups venturing in and out creating various entertainment for spectators passing by. Blue Lagoon is a short 5 minute walk from the small cobbled beach car park. Which you pay PS5 for a car, per day on entry. Free public toilets nearby, too. Narrow paths in places would make it difficult for regular wheelchairs to access it.
beautiful, great walks including the pembrokeshire costal route, and fab for swimming (but bring a wetsuit!). it is free to swim in, but deffo bring water shoes as the old slate quarry can be sharp and slippery when in and out of the water. also a great place for kids to jump off the old walls, as the base is deep so there is minimal risk. a very popular spot for paddle boarders too!
A medium sized car park on the beach, the road to it is quite narrow at points, but the lagoon itself is amazing, definitely recommend a wetsuit, several jumps for different levels of skill. Can get busy later on in the day. Beautiful views
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
