Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium provides an amazing undersea adventure through the world's seas and oceans. Marvel at over 40 naturally-themed displays and be transported from the rocky Cornish shores to the exotic coral reefs! At the aquarium's heart is a ocean tank with an underwater walk through tunnel, home to hundreds of colourful fish, tropical sharks and Omiros, the rescued loggerhead turtle.
+ There is a variety of animals on display however we were not impressed with the size compared to the entrance price. It's rather small and even if you take your time to see everything after 45 minutes you've seen it all. +1 star for being one of the few aquariums that actually have live coral. !It's great that you are allowed to return on the day itself.
It was all over in literally minutes the amount you walk to get there I think we was in there for around 15 minutes kids enjoyed it but don't think for price it was worth it. When we went through the tunnel, it was so packed people sitting down was hard to struggle getting through and couldn't even get a family selfie as people was in pictures. However there was pretty good fishes
Visited the week before half term, do it's very quiet. This was great, because we didn't feel like we had to move quickly around the building. We visited with a mobility scooter which was very well catered for throughout the place. Was surprised at how much variety of fish is actually here - it was a fabulous visit and well worth a couple of hours on a dull Cornwall day
We visited today, late August, and although Newquay itself was rammed this aquarium wasn't too busy. Although quaint, I felt the admission price was worth it because you can see the animals are cared for very well, which I'm sure is not cheap! My daughter loved that the Octopus had their own climbing ladder in the tank! The star of the show for us was Omiros, the resident turtle who was rescued after being blinded after an incident with a fishing net in Greece. We got to see him being fed and listened to his story from the lady who looks after him. He sounds to be a character, and was absolutely amazing to see up close. The aquarium was clean, with lots of boards and information about the animals in the tank. The gift shop and cafe we didn't really go in, so can't comment but we had a great time. It is set over two floors with lift access in between, so accessibility seems very good. We parked quite far away so it was a trek down the hill but well sign posted and easy to find!
We recently visited Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay Cornwall. We were truly captivated by the mesmerising underwater world they have created. The knowledgeable staff were passionate & eager to share their expertise, making the experience even more enriching. It's fantastic for families, couples or anyone looking to escape into the enchanting world of ocean. We bought a ticket of family of 4 for PS47 and a junior ticket for PS10.75. They are free car parking spaces available if you drive around the area.
The Aquarium is amazing! The entrance had no time in a queue and we got straight in with no problems. The staff are lovely and are really nice. We had some food and for PS40 we got plenty of food and MORE, the margarita pizza was lovely and tasty. I couldn't ask for anything more a great day out for the family and for friends!
