Had a fab few hours at the museum followed by a ride on a steam locomotive train. It was like stepping back in time, with the many vintage posters, the vintage booking office and waiting room, the old railway bridge, and all the collections from the past in the museum. There are many steam trains in the museum, that you can climb onto for an up close experience of these magnificent locomotives. The staff are all really friendly and knowledgeable and want you to engage with the experience. There's a cafe on the platform and you can sit and eat outside whilst watching the trains come and go. There are sufficient loo's on both platforms. Don't forget to go into the signal box and try your hand at pulling the levers. The journey on the steam train takes you through some lovely countryside and passes an old train carriage graveyard. There was a buffet shop in our carriage so we were able to buy steaming hot coffees, and the seats were remarkably comfortable. Please be aware that it can get very hot in the carriages on the (almost) 2hr round trip. Plenty of parking at the station. A really enjoyable day, for all ages, and packed with nostalgia.

A fantastic place that takes us back in time over 140 years. If you decide to visit, reserve a few good hours. They will turn into a moment full of interesting stories and wonderful experiences. For those who played with small trains as children, this place will be like cherry on top. The offer is very rich. I would highly recommend

We had a thoroughly lovely time at the bluebell railway. My grandson loved it. The stations were well kept and very pretty. The staff, especially the ticket master and the gentleman serving at the buffet on the train were so friendly and welcoming. We loved that they were all in period costume. Thank you for a lovely day

Took the kids here for a stop off on the way back from a week away and had a blast. So good to be able to take a decent journey in an old steam train, it's about 1/2 hour each way and some stunning scenery. When we went the kids were only PS1 each which was an absolute bargain. The staff were all super helpful and knowledgeable. The restaurant great value and tasty fresh cooked food. The steam shed was super cool with loads of interaction. Will definitely be going again.

Had a great day at the Bluebell Railway Southern at War day. Fantastic period costumes, including characters from Dad's Army, great entertainment, a Spitfire aerial display, and lots of train rides! A really fun day, and fabulous weather too.
