Bluestone National Park Resort is a 5*, luxury, eco-friendly short break destination in Pembrokeshire, Wales, perfect for family breaks, outdoor adventures and escapes in the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast National Park!
Our first time as grandparents staying in a separate accommodation "dove" from our 7 grandchildren and 6 parents staying in no 6 wainwright. All accommodation was well equipped and v clean although there was damp / leak in ensuit in one of the rooms |Good WiFi. But took us ages to get tv to work!|Fridge far too small for 13 people! No freezer ! |Cooker too small too. several batches of pizza on relays to accommodate us all! |Also not enough child friendly bowls cups etc ||But the swimming pool was excellent. The sand. Water play And all the undercover play areas were fab! |Shame there was an extra charge for some activities at PS16 a go. Far too much! |Note. Take your own water bottles as there are refills stations about and they will not sell you water! |If you are physically compromised doooo book a golf buggy ahead as it is steep in places and when you arrive the buggies are all gone! But there is a customer service bus free which we did use to the swimming pool |Food on site is very good. Restaurants are reasonably priced and great for kids |Coffee shop is worth a visit and will do breakfast |The general store is very well stocked a little over normal prices but convenient |I would return. But only suitable for under 12 year olds
A really nice break away with the family. Surrounded by nature. Outdoor activities. Bike riding, the pool, the hive & serendome, booking a buggy is a must (before your visit) lovely village store. The staff really work so hard and for us the most enjoyable part of our stay. Helpful, friendly & all lovely. Camp Smokey was a great night out for us & we throughly enjoyed the shindig. Yes we did experience lack of signal/wifi, a complementary tea/coffee/milk would be a nice touch. We also had an issue with our buggy but the security team were very efficient in dealing with it, that being said we would definitely return!
Just back from a fabulous week at Bluestone. We were a family of nine, grandparents, children and three grandchildren ages 6,9,11. Stayed in two lodges a Skomer and Ramsey. Both lodges were spotlessly clean with modern kitchens and bathrooms. Really spacious and comfortable. Activities on site best suited to children under 8 imo but there is lots to do and many places to visit in the surrounding area. We loved the beaches at Saundersfoot and Tenby in particular. I would recommend saving the money for a buggy, Bluestone is very hilly and the amenities on the site are fairly spread out. The children loved the buggy, it was a real bonus.
Just fabulous, perfect for little ones. It requires a bit of forward planning to get booked into restaurants and activities but they do tell you that when you book. |Deffo get a buggie to drive around in, it's easy to walk around but the buggy makes it much more fun. ||The shindig at Smokey's is a must, fab entertainment and such good value for money. We also loved panning off gold there, the entertainment staff were so funny.||Massive shout out to Dana from the entertainment staff who made our daughter feel super special the whole time, thank you so much. People have said there was no entertainment but you just need to plan around when it is, Dana did a fab singing set in the knights tavern then there was a live band on our last night at the serendome. ||Just check the guide when you arrive. Also the walk through the woods to black pool mill was fab and you get 10% off your meal as owned by the same people. Food is amaze there! ||Will defo come again, all the staff are super friendly and helpful.
This is our 5th time staying at this resort and the second time staying for 11 nights. This time our oldest was 8 and our youngest turned 3 while we were there. ||This is our happy place and no other UK holiday park that we have been to (and there have been quite a few, including Center Parcs) comes close to how amazing this place is. It has also improved so much from our first visit. We have previously stayed in a Caldey Lodge and a Ramsey Lodge, but this time we tried one of the new Platinum Solva Lodges which included a golf buggy in the price. Driving a golf buggy is so fun. ||Our lodge was a beautiful and stylish bungalow with a large open plan area containing a high spec kitchen, dining space and living room. There is one bathroom and a separate large WC. The main bathroom had 2 sinks, a freestanding bath and separate shower unit and 2 access doors which connected it to the main bedroom and the living area. The twinkling lights above the bath are pretty and a nice little touch. ||The doors were really useful and the design of the bathroom also allowed the kids to be in the bath while we showered which was really helpful after a trip to the pool. There are a decent amount of mirrors. There is also a great sized terrace with nice outdoor furniture. ||The only minor complaints that we had were that an ironing blanket isn't good for ironing everything including shirts and in Platimum Lodges there should be streaming services on the two TVs especially for parents with small kids who may not be out in the evenings.||Bluestone has great information on its websites that includes an inventory of the items that should be in the lodge. We had everything on the list. ||We pre booked a number of activities including Outdoor Detectives, Wake up and Wiggle, Willow Wands, the Character Show, Teddy Blue Meet and Greet, Archery, the Starcatcher, Musical Mayhem, Double Kayaking, Panning for Gold, Woodland Warriors, Smokey Joe's Shindig, the Secret Village and Glow Zone Bowling and bought tokens for Adrenaline and the Power Tower and Power Jump on the days that we wanted to do them. The Entertainment Team are amazing and made these activities so magical and fun for our kids who loved all of them. The others that operated the activities were also great.||We didn't try any of the free activities but there were many during the day and evenings including live music in the on site pub and a summer festival in the Serendome. There are also free things to do including sand play, water play, 2 playgrounds, a massive soft play area with basketball and football court, woodland and field walks, a swimming pool with slides and brilliant family changing areas.||During our stay the on site pub was open until 23:00 and the swimming pool opened from 8:30 to 18:30 or 20:30. ||We ate at all of the restaurants, and at Blackpool Mill and really enjoyed all of the food, but some of the prices were quite expensive although expected as this is a 5 star resort.||We also love the area surrounding this resort and have been to beaches, castles, theme parks and lovely towns and villages during our stays. We had great weather which allowed a couple of beach visits. We never just stay at the resort for our whole stay. ||There is a handy big Morrisons in Haverford West.||We drive for 5 hours to get here, but that has never put us off. We will always come back to this resort whenever we can.
This place is the absolute perfect holiday destination for our family. We have four-year-old twins and there is so much for them to do, even if it rains, and without spending a lot of extra money. We stayed Monday-Friday last year and it wasn't long enough, so I would definitely recommend a full week to experience everything on offer. We did pay extra to secure a lodge overlooking the lake, which was well worth it in my opinion. However, all of the lodges are nicely positioned and surrounded by lovely trees. I actually prefer the older lodges, as the newer ones are not very established yet and that area still looks a bit stark. We stayed both times in a Ramsey lodge, which has the living area on the top floor and bedrooms below. We really like this setup, as it offers lovely views of the surrounding treetops and gives extra privacy. The shop is brilliant - really well stocked, plenty for vegetarians, and not stupidly expensive. Takeaway meals were tasty and reasonably priced. We hired a buggy, which I don't feel was particularly necessary, but our daughters found it tremendous fun and it was worth it for that alone. The icing on the cake for us is that the resort is dog free!
