Cornwall's premier steam railway travelling through the heart of the Cornish countryside. Featuring 6 /12 miles of heritage railway.
One end of the line for the fabulous Bodmin Heritage Railway. Very nice staff in all parts of this wonderful endeavour; the platform and train staff are such friendly folks, with a wealth of stories and experience to share. Visit the old style buffet in Coach B, for service with a smile
Great day out. The steam train staff were very professional & friendly. Would definitely recommend the ride.
A great visit. Full size engines and carriages run over two routes. The first route is from Bodmin central to the mainline Bodmin station and back and after running around the engine then takes to a second line. Both lines are included with your ticket. There is free parking at Bodmin general which also has a cafe, the train also has a buffet car. Staff are dressed in period uniforms and many are volunteers. The stations are set back in time which is delightful. My trip was steam hauled but they also have diesel locos running at other times. Both lines travel through some lovely countryside and even the mainline station is very oldy worldy and quaint with the old signal box converted to a buffet.
Fantastic day, live running steam. We live locally and have visited several times, but our American guest was bowled over by the warmth of the reception and help with photos etc that he received. Thanks so much to all the staff and volunteers for giving him brilliant memories to take back to America with him. Impressive .
Fantastic day out, the staff are very helpful, the food and drinks are good. There is also a gift shop. A part of British history that needs to be preserved.
Lovely little piece of Cornish history, short and sweet journey between a few stations. There is hot and cold food served in the dining car, seating can be a squeeze for the larger train enthusiast. Gift shop, tiny and cute. Apparently great for dogs and wheelchair access too. Recommend.
