Situated on England's southernmost Lizard Peninsula, Bonython Estate offers excitement and surprises, with colour and interest in all seasons.
The most fantastic gardens, I was truly blown away! Talking to the owners, each plant was hand-planted and the vision that went into these gardens was just incredible. I can't believe some could have such a wonderful imagination to come up with this! There were little tea rooms which were very quaint and lots of interesting photos of the gardens along the way to becoming what they are now. I'm not usually a huge fan of gardens but I would highly recommend a visit when the flowers are in bloom - it was so lovely!
Beautiful gardens. Walled garden with scented flowers, fruit and vegetables, fruit trees, exotic plants round lakes, bamboos, rhododendrons, sculpted yew "chapel", all around a (private) Georgian country house. Tea, coffee and cakes available. Immaculately maintained. Lovely, peaceful place for a walk and a snack.
Beautiful gardens , Self service tea room with very yummy handmade cakes, honestly box. A lovely place to walk and sit, relax. Best bit we could take our Dogs. We have had a lovely afternoon.
Relaxed private garden. Lovely selection of spring plants and very well laid out gardens. Friendly staff and honesty box for drinks and delicious cakes. A gem
Absolutely stunning gardens and the lake is beautiful. Some of the narrower pathways around the lake may not be accessible to wheel chairs but there is still so much to see and enjoy. Highly recommend exploring!
Visited today and have to admit that the gardens are nice and the ponds are gorgeous, but found the PS8 entrance fee a little excessive considering it was only 1 mile to walk the entire way around the open grounds. On the NGS website it boasted of a 20 acre colour garden, we followed the arrows dotted about and didn't come across anything of the sort. I'm glad I've been and it's crossed off my list now.
