One of our most photographed bays, Botany Bay is famous, offering stunning views of white cliffs and beautiful chalk stacks. When the tide is out, Botany bay is a great location for fossil hunting and exploring rock pools. There's plenty of exposed sand to enjoy when the tide is in, but due to the bay's shape the ends are cut off at high tide. Parking is limited. No free parking available in Kingsgate Avenue/Fitzroy Avenue, where 24hr patrols are in force. Permit Holders only. This is a residential area, so please park sensibly in designated parking areas, being aware of emergency vehicles. Parking advised at Palm Bay Avenue, where there's over 200 free parking spaces, (CT9 3PP) for Palm Bay beach and a short cliff to Botany Bay.
When you arrive it is surreal and breathtaking with the view of the hill tops and sea view. Pleasant soft sandy beach view with memorable white cliffs. Lovely clean hills as you walk down towards the beach. The shore line is a bit hard with mud and algae/seaweed like most of London Seashores now which was a shame with the surrounding viewpoints.
For the amazing views and photos make sure you go at low tide. There are porta-loos at the small car park at the end of Botany Bay road (didn't need to use this or the main toilet block). Lots of on street parking but it does start to get busy by midday. Bring good boots as the rocks can get slippery.
Visited this beach last Sunday with family and kids loved it, nice small sandy beach .later during a day get busier but still we had great time . Unfortunately there is very limited parking space so we had to leave our car in approximately 20 min walking distance . On the beach is small bar and small shop with beach accessories. Few other beaches in short distance from this place .
One of the best beaches in Kent Coast. I've been there numerous of times and it has become my favourite. Can be busy in hot days but you will always find a spot. Free on street parking. I recommend to come early morning. We had a lot of fun with seagulls who were trying to steal our food
Quiet times are sunrise, morning and sunset I guess. Other times are very busy as the beach is beautiful and sandy. There is a mosque/masjid which is less than 10 mins drive away and open only during Salah times. Parking is limited and quiet times are best for parking but maybe not ideal for long distance travellers.
My family and I visited Botany Bay Beach on Sunday, and we had a delightful experience overall. The weather was perfect, enhancing our enjoyment as we explored the entire beach. The presence of lifeguards provided an added sense of safety, which was reassuring. There is a convenient shop on the beach that sells food and ice creams, as well as buckets for those looking to play in the sand. For more substantial meals, there is a restaurant nearby, and toilet facilities are available, which is always a plus. However, we did face a challenge with parking. There were not enough parking spaces, and the beach was quite crowded. Despite this, Botany Bay Beach is a great spot for sunbathing and spending a relaxing day by the sea.
