Bow Bridge is a historic bridge in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, built in 1770. It is a single-span stone arch bridge that crosses the River Aire, featuring a distinctive bow-shaped design that gives it its name. The bridge is constructed from local stone and has a rustic, weathered appearance, with a narrow pedestrian walkway and low parapets. It is a Grade II listed building and a prominent landmark in the city, offering picturesque views of the surrounding area.
Parked in a lay-by. Short walk to the bridge. A lovely spot. Only needs a short 10 minute stop. The drizzle actually enhanced the visit!!
Old bridge the monks used to get to Furness abbey, great walk with the dog
A rather unremarkable footbridge in a beautiful location. That's not to detract from its historical significance in relation to the nearby Furness Abbey.
It's just a bridge, but it's also right by the side of the road, and historically significant. Worth a stop.
A bit difficult to find at first but its near a road where you can access it, we came from the path so we couldn't get to it. There's a nice walk along a path going from Furness Abbey, it leads quite the way done following the railway, not sure how long it goes for, probably a few miles. We noticed the bridge on the way back up to the abbey behind some trees, we didn't spot it on the way down, there might be a sign for it along the road but we didn't go that way.
No parking , public footpath, cows in field.
On-site services
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
