This 18th-century landscape garden features a serpentine lake, walking trails, and a variety of plant species. The park's design is attributed to Lancelot "Capability" Brown, a renowned English landscape architect. Visitors can stroll along the lake's edge, explore the woodland walks, and enjoy the scenic views. The park's tranquil atmosphere and picturesque surroundings make it a popular spot for relaxation and recreation.
My partner loves this park. Quite smallish , but a great place to walk dogs . Small pond during wet season , car park , derelict football net , tiny stream with bridges and when i was a kid there was a mountain bike track , nothin massive , which is now a bit overgrown and hidden but its still there. Also used for motorbike training cbt licence , and few locals ride their illegal motorbikes on there , but they dont bother anyone and tend to stay at the bottom of the park so they can be easily avoided. An all round nice walk.
Can get very muddy at times unless you stick to the tarmac areas. Dogs should have to be on a lead or have a designated area for them to run free. Some children do not like dogs jumping up at them.
This large park is ideal for walks it has large areas of level grassland were football, cricket and many other sports have taken place. Its looked after by rochdale council, but it is not in my view used to its capacity. There is a large car boot every Sunday during the summer. This great facility could be used for much more but its under pressure to be turned into another housing project. This green space was left to the people of Middleton by the m.o.d. at the end of the last war, and should remain for the use of the people of Middleton
Good sized area great for walking dogs or cycling there is a large open field and also a children's play area but its quite small and not well maintained kids will get bored quickly
Bowlee Park is great for a dog walk but it is plagued by teenagers on motorbikes so it can be potentially dangerous. If they are not around it is a very enjoyable walk.
I love this park, i love taking my children here in the summery days and having a nice walk around. Plenty of fun!
