A small volunteer-run local history museum of the heritage of the ancient and beautiful town of Bradford on Avon and its surrounding area, featuring a restored pharmacy, Roman remains and items from social and industrial history.
Paid a visit to the museum which is set on the bank of the river Avon that runs through the town,it is situated above the library in Bridge Street overlooking the short stay car park.even though it is only a small place it has a lot on display, dating back to Roman times with a lot of artefacts on show,it also has a complete old fashioned chemist with all the original bottles and potions, even the original creaky floorboards are in place,it is amazing to see something like this so well preserved. It is free to enter and well worth a look around when visiting the town.
Very interesting museum with lots of artefacts and information about the local wool trade, long gone now.
A great little museum covering ancient and modern history. Only small but loads of interesting items. Not open for long hours. Recommended.
Visited this wonderful hidden gem of a museum today and was quite presently surprised by the quality of the information and artifacts presented at the museum. It was free to visit the museum, it was clean, organized, and located just above the town's library.
