A picturesque beach with soft, golden sand and calm, clear waters, surrounded by rugged cliffs and scenic coastal paths, offering stunning views of the North Sea and a tranquil atmosphere perfect for relaxation and water activities.
Good view. The chapel beach car park is a bit too far from the beach. Public facilities, such as toilets, cafes are a bit far too (Sea Wall). I would recommend avoiding woods and jungle as adders snake spotted here (albeit a bit close to rare). If you are going to Chapel Beach, try visiting during high tide. The best thing is, there isn't much crowd
Great for solitude. Otherwise ok. It's brilliant if you want some peace and quiet with some decent nature around you. You may not be impressed if you are looking for a sandy beach with some spectacular views. You need to park some 10 minutes away from the beach and then walk. Getting to the secluded beach requires going through a bit of mud, usually, or going around extra 10 minutes. It's not a big deal as the walk is quite peasent, but be prepared. It's probably the nearest beach from north London.
Very quiet little beach, no car access as its gated, so on foot, bike or motorbike only. Beautiful views and nothing but the sound of the water.
Visited on a bank holiday Monday and there's no crowds, just a few walkers and families enjoying the beach. The nearest car park being a (fast) 5 minute walk away and the Dengie Peninsula being fairly remote probably keeps the crowds away. The ancient Chapel of St. Peter is worth a visit and the walks either way towards the saltmarsh or along the sea wall to where the Blackwater meets the sea are worthwhile, with views across to Mersea Island.
Lovely nature reserve with small beach great for collecting shells. Limited swimming times due to current do not swim alone. Quiet and peaceful quiet nature reserve.
Not a real "beach" in the normal sense. It is a sea wall with a small stoney beach with limited access routes. It is really a wildlife and nature area with a lot of interesting features.
Good for kids
