The remains of the old colliery are interesting and a lot of effort has been made to protect what's left and to provide an idea of the history of the coal mines in this area. Don't know if you can actually visit inside the fenced off area.
Never knew of this place, learnt of it through a relative when I was researching Ram Hill Colliery. A beautiful place! now getting the care and attention it deserves, hoping to return when I hear about any public open days!
Interesting stop off on my bike ride. Unusual bit of history.
Used to play here as a child, forgotten all about it. Great walk with some interesting information on the area that certainly wasn't there when I was a child. :-)
Great to see places like this being restored and very interesting
