Serene waterfront destination with dog-friendly walking paths, wildlife & a visitor center.
Really nice park :) You can do a quick walk around the water or go for a longer walk beside the canal. Loads of ducks around it was so cute Lovely for a picnic, you can sit on floor but there's also a few picnic tables dotted around. I like how quiet it was, parking is also free. Toilets are kinda weird though, theres also a little shop you can have hot and cold food and drinks and buy ice cream, there's seating inside and outside too x
Branston water Park is a lovely Nature reserve on the Trent and Mersey Canal not far from Burton-upon-Trent. There is alot of walks with a lovely cafe that sells Tea coffee cakes and sandwiches. Dogs are allowed but must be on leads at all times.
Great place to walk the dog, lots of access to walks across the area. Hub cafe is also good.
I use a power wheelchair and went round the lake anticlockwise today. Plenty of parking, including several areas for disabled spaces. The path is accessible around the lake, however, parts of the path have eruptions due to branches growing up under the path in places; there are parts where the path width is half covered by over growth so is half path/half verge, which would be tricky in wet/recently wet times; the part near the bridge is steep (as someone else mentioned- thank you, I was prepared) - I managed but in future might use the road for this small part of the path (it is the last hundred yards going anticlockwise). There were plenty of benches, including wheelchair accessible ones. I didn't use toilet or cafe facilities but cafe was open and it looked/smelt nice and we plan to use next time.
