BWLR is a Narrow Gauge (2') railway with tearoom & museum. Note: opening times for tearoom & trains differ. The tea room serves great tea & coffee as will as a range of snacks and wonderful cakes, they open Wednesday to Sunday 09:00 to 15:00. On Wednesdays we run a diesel train from 10:30 to 14:00 about every 30 minutes. Steam trains run on main event days when the museum and engine sheds open to display a range of engineering bygones. An 1870 beam engine water pump to old tractors, cars, traction engine and steam roller. 8 steam locomotives, 5 diesels plus a range of carriages and goods trucks. On event days trailer & unlimited steam train rides within the price. Events are 1st Sunday for the month from May to October. Website has details.
A nice place to take the kids for a few hours. Have as many rides on the steam and diesel trains as you like. Plenty of picnic areas, including one under cover. A nice tea shop serving a variety of teas and coffee, sandwiches, wraps, and a lovely selection of cakes all at reasonable prices. They also serve hot food, although this wasn't available on the day we visited because there was a burger van on site. Wander across to Yew Tree Farm where there are calves, sheep, pygmy goats, pigs, and a variety of small furry animals, which you can pet. Check online before you visit, as it is not open every day, even in the summer.
Great place to visit, even in the rain today. Visited at Halloween, and they had dressed up the woods with all sorts of spooky stuff. All the kids on the train absolutely loved it. Everyone was so nice and it's not an expensive trip either..
Most amazing and friendly staff - highly recommend the railway for all the family. Do check on bwlr.co.uk or Facebook Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway to see whether they are running trains as they DO NOT run trains everyday tearoom is open Wednesday until Sunday every week
Lovely couple of hours spent here, unlimited steam train rides, several engines and other railway memorabilia to see.
Amazing people around are very friendly and such a relaxing place to visit as always. My boy love's always.
Went to the Bregar Wood Fare hosted by the B&W Railway. Brilliant day. Lots there. Very nice cafe which is a permanent feature with good selection of gluten free cakes.
