The castle is going to fall on you !!!!! No, it isn't really. It's been like it for about 350 years. Hopefully, it is not going anywhere soon!! Beautiful sunny, the box gardens look good a little early to see the bedding plants. There are lots of nice benches and grass to have a picnic. (Chips from High Town Grill) Wonderful views of the surrounding Shropshire hills. You can get to the gardens from the bridge from the Severn Valley Railway Station. The gardens are also a little walk from the top town (this is what our family calls the area) past the cliff railway top station. The castle was destroyed in the English Civil War. The TV show Time Team is excellent if you want to find out more information on the castle and its destruction.

I saw this beautiful place while visiting the small town and I'm so glad I made the stop. This place is small but oh so beautiful. You cannot see much of the castle just ruins scattered around among the amazing gardens. These are beautifully maintained and you can walk along the pathways and see all the different flowers and plants. Doggies do need to be kept on the lead at all times. Please be mindful that there's not really parking, apart from the street parking in front which allows only 30min of free parking for non residents. I'd recommend you park at the bottom of the fourth and walk up the stairs to the ruins.

A lovely green area with a wonky (falling over ruins) castle! The gardens are not massive, but they seem to be well maintained and looked after. Views from here are also excellent as your on top of a hill...! This was a short walk (albeit a few steps upwards) from our trip out on the Severn Railway (with Bridgnorth being the furthest station along the route).

The gardens here are lovely and with the castle in the background makes better. It's very well looked after and a great place to sit and contemplate life. You have to see the castle to understand just how it came to be in the state it's in. A worthy visit just that it's a bit of a walk from car parks if you have any disabled or younger children.

It is a beautiful and peaceful place. A lovably green area. It's winter now, but I'm sure it will be even more beautiful in spring. The views from here are wonderful. I recommend it.
