Country park with walking paths, native wildlife & a visitor centre/cafe serving refreshments.
Great place to walk the dogs and let the kids burn off some energy. Large, free, car park available. There is a large playground next to the cafe and other things for kids to do whilst around the park. The park is dog friendly, on leads, with waste bins located around the park. There are different routes to take around the park. Unfortunately, most of the signs that contain arrows no longer have them, so it can be quite easy to lose your bearings. Not our 1st visit, won't be the last.
What a lovely place for walking. The visitor centre was inviting and the cafe was clean and the staff are friendly..Great that's it on a good bus route
I think Brierley Forest Country Park is a lovely place to walk and sit. I would like to thank all people involved in keeping it well maintained. BUT!! I would like to see new sign posts for the people who ride their horses, they ride their horses over every pathway. I think horses are lovely animals, and the riders take them where they want, and not everybody who is out with children and dogs wants them so near. Thank you
A lovely walk with my partner on a cold but sunny afternoon! We did a 2 mile walk but you could definitely do longer as we didn't walk the entire park. Good footwear is necessary as not all of the paths are stone/sand. A lovely coffee shop which is dog friendly with some good and reasonably priced food.
A wonderful find. Former mine, remodeled into a terrific space for nature and access to walkers, cyclists, horse riders, families, couples, and those with mobility issues. I spent a short while here but could have enjoyed most of the day. Easy parking and access.
Brierley is one of our favourites as a family. The cafe serves amazing, well priced food with a good vegan range and alternative milks for hot drinks. The play park has been improved and its great for children to practice climbing and balancing. Warning it does get slippy and muddy when it gets very wet but mine love the extra mud! Super dog friendly, though dogs must be in leads around the pond and as its quite high volume of dogs I would recommend reactive dogs stay on leads. There are quieter paths where you can walk dogs who prefer their own space. Saturday at 9am is Park Run which we really enjoy and makes use of the parks circular route. There are well maintained toilets open when the visitors centre is open and right by the cafe. There are also picnic benches by the play oark/cafe and down at the pond for those who wish to dine outside.
