The British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire, is home to the world's largest collection of British classic cars. Explore over 300 classic and veteran cars from the British Motor industry Heritage Trust and the Jaguar Heritage Trust. The Museum is also great for families and offers interactive family tours, craft activities and trails to keep the children entertained. We also run special activities during school holidays.
Fantastic selection of cars as well as a ton of informative text on them. A wide range of different cars from different eras and how cars and the law has changed over the years. A lovely cafe upstairs for lunch and drinks and a wonderful place that is well looked after and maintained. Overall a lot to see and highly recommend for car lovers aswell as people who just want to see some extraordinary motor vehicles! I would also like to point out that this museum is wheelchair friendly and caters well for those who may have additional needs or requirements.
Classics of the British Motoring era Plenty of parking with most of the site accessible. Onside cafe serving sandwiches and main meals. Lots of British cars on show from early days with Austin etc to final British Leyland offerings. Has free audio commentary but not free admission. If you are over 40, this brings back lots of memories. Well worth a visit. Can drive Classic cars for a fee; it's best to book before you visit
It was a fantastic day out for family, especially kids. They love it. On entrance, they happily greeted by staff and offered to take push along cars for my child. The layout is a little bit confusing, but the map helps navigate around. The walking areas are wide, so it is easy to move around. There are quite a few cars which take you by surprise. Nice to see past to present British car heritage
Went here on a Friday afternoon on our way to somewhere else. We'd booked on line as its slightly cheaper. Wasn't busy on Friday. Loads to see! We did the normal bit of the museum and didn't have time to do the "collections" side. So many interesting vehicles, some normal, some supercars and some from movies. So a bit of everything. There is also a trail for kids to do as they go round. Visited the cafe for a cake and drink which was good and a reasonable price. Went back on our way home on Sunday to do the collections side. Was offered a tour by George, he did a great tour of the Jaguar cars. Lots of interesting information that you didn't get from the signs. Very informative. Great ambassador for the place! Another person who deserves a mention was Clive on reception on Friday, sorted out the tickets with humour and made a great start to the afternoon.
Fantastic day out. Well recommended. Lovely selection of cars, toilets were clean all day long. Didn't try the on-site cafe but everything did look spotlessly clean and it smelled nice. Best of all the volunteer guides were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic
Wheelchair accessible and accessible loos. You won't be able to get close to everything and sometimes cars are parked too close together to get a chair between them but otherwise it's pretty good. Plenty to see and you can easily spend a whole day here! If you're gluten free don't get excited by their celiac certified kitchen - the menu is very typical (soup, sandwiches, jacket potatoes). The do loaded fries but apparently the gluten free fryer wasn't working the day we went - which was odd as fries were literally the only fried thing on the menu and they were bringing out loads of loaded fries for non-celiacs...
