The Forest Adventure is all outdoors in a woodland area at Broom House Farm. There are nature trails, quizzes and play equipment in a beautiful woodland setting, it's a great family activity, a day out with the kids in County Durham The Forest Adventure is open at weekends and during school holidays (Tuesdays to Sundays), 10am-4pm. Tickets must be purchased online in advance through the Broom House Farm website.
My son had a forest adventure 9th birthday party package booked here and needless to say it's more than worth it. To start we booked before it has officially open to the public yet as it closes during winter. Therefore the entire forest adventure was just for my son's party alone guided by the loveliest forest ranger I have ever meant. The staff are so lovely and accommodating all around. The guy who runs it (manager I believe) was beyond kind to all of us. He was so helpful even when I forgot knife and candles for bday cake. The kids were able to use all equipment with a ranger to help us and let us know all rules. Follow the rules and you will have a great time! It's 15 pound per kid for admission with one adult allowed per each party goer. So all in all for 10 kids it's PS150 pounds for 3 hours incl food and drinks which is MUCH cheaper what I have had to pay for other parties. Again the forest adventure was only open to our party which is unheard of nowadays at most places! During the spring/summer months when they open to public there will be other kids/families on site I believe. The kids were so happy and the forest adventure is amazing. Ziplines, low ropes, tunnels, challenges, slides and sledges that go down a hill on a track. Ensure hiking books for mud and pray for nice weather. 10/10 recommend this to anyone and everyone with kids. Thanks to the staff for a great party. Everyone was just so happy with the day.
Visited yesterday and had an amazing time. Would definitely recommend! We spend 3 hours in the forest adventure, this included going back round part of it to find the last fairy! You can choose which adventure you would like to do! We did the baby animals and fairies! We had minimal waiting time for all the activities and they were so much fun! Us and the kids (age 4 and 7) loved it all. We had an ice cream afterwards and the lady who served us was lovely! We didnt eat in the cafe but the food and cakes looked amazing. We had a picnic and there is a good size picnic area you can sit in near the car park. Great find! Thank you!
We have been here many times and have enjoyed the food and staff been very helpful and friendly, this time was slightly different, I asked if they were still serving cooked breakfast as it stops at 11.30am, the time was 11.27, I was told no and that's it, didn't offer ne anything else, they were still doing a breakfast bun, sausage bun or bacon bun in the end we had a sausage and a bacon bun with a tea and latte PS17 which is a bit pricey but worth it as food was very tasty, latte was a bit strong for my taste, I usual ask for one shot but forgot this time. The place was quite busy but we found a table with no problems. We went hound yo the farm shop and bought the same sausages that we had just eaten, plus a few other items, sign outside said that the butchery dept had been voted best of 2023. We spent about PS50 but did buy a new teapot PS15
Absolutely fantastic place! Me, my kids( ages 2 & 10) & grandma visited last weekend & we all had the best day, so much to do. it's a perfect place for kids to be kids, I mean what kid doesn't like climbing around & getting muddy! Dogs are welcome too which I thought waw great, do family day out is complete without our 4 legged friends! the food from the cafe was spot on, nice & fresh & well prepared. Staff were all lovely & friendly too, would recommend this place to anyone! Can't wait to come back again!
Really disappointed at having to rate this 3 stars as last time we went it would have been 5 but after a second visit today we were put off. We arrived on the afternoon and the first thing we did was go to the cafe. I got a bottle of 7up and coke and was charged PS7, when I asked if that was correct I was told yes its PS3.50 each - unbelievably expensive, take a drinks bottle. We went into the forest play area which is so great but a rude lady managing it pretty much followed us round for the last hour telling us that it closed at 4 multiple times, our children were running ahead trying to squeeze as much in as possible and at 4.50 went to go on the zipline only for lady to say they weren't allowed without parental supervision, children 10+ on a zipline, then when we joined our children we were told you're too late to do it now at 4.58, it just felt unnecessary and her manner was so rude. So disappointing as we really did look forward to going back but that particular staff member made us feel very unwelcome.
I can't thank the staff at Broom House Farm enough for the support they showed myself and my partner today after my partner suddenly fell ill and needed an ambulance. The Manager Jane searched the farm to find a doctor on site and reassured and stayed with my partner until help arrived. Despite a scary end to our day, our little one absolutely loved exploring the forest adventure and thoroughly enjoyed his lunch afterwards, Great place for kids and we can't wait to return, hopefully with no hospital trips at the end!
