Unfortunately it never seems to be open when I visit from Wiltshire. I was on this occasion but shut 45 minutes early. However the staff/volunteers were very helpful in supplying pictures of maps as I and my sister were looking for a timeline that showed what Brynmawr was like when my nan a Watkins lived here so thank you.
A small museum run by friendly and enthusiatic volunteers. Some lovely insights into life in a valleys town and for anyone interested in furniture design some interesting material about the Brynmawr factory.. Worth visiting if you are in the area.
The people were very friendly and we had a good chat. It was good to see the collection of Brynmawr furniture and to see the chair my grandfather made at the furniture factory during the 1930's .
Lovely little local museum. I particularly enjoyed the very personal exhibits from the second World war. Lots of reminders of Brynmawr industrial past too.
