The Bryntail Lead Mine Buildings are a collection of industrial heritage structures located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales. The site comprises a range of buildings, including the engine house, winding house, and other ancillary structures, which were used for lead mining operations in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The buildings are constructed from local stone and feature characteristic industrial architecture of the period, with tall chimneys, robust walls, and functional design. Today, the site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Grade II* listed building, recognizing its importance in the history of Welsh industry and its well-preserved state.
Serene setting of the past, with the highest reservoir dam built in the UK (I think still ) awesome, fantastic walks and trails ,if your into nature. The lake is one of the best landscape features to drive around.
Very interesting place with good signposting and information. Limited parking but there was only one other car here when we arrived. Very atmospheric too - you can get a hint of what life was like for the people who worked there, and now it looks like a good venue for quirky weddings. Strange how life turns, isn't it?
Lovely little place to explore. A little disappointed, I wanted to see the bottom of the dam but it was closed off to public listed as private property and no cameras allowed. But came across this Lead Mine Building which was nice to visit and take a few black and white photos of the scenery.
Love coming up here all year round. Some lovely walks. Dog and child safe. Wonderful area to explore through some beautiful countryside . Views are amazing from the top.
Great find and views to the dam. Good walk up to Dam also. You can drive up to the dam view point also.
Interesting stop off point just below the dam. Good for a picnic but no facilities
On-site services
Good for kids
