This 19th-century flour mill, now a museum, showcases the region's industrial heritage. The mill's machinery, including its impressive wooden beams and grinding stones, is still intact, offering a glimpse into the past. Visitors can explore the mill's five floors, learning about the milling process and the lives of the people who worked there. The museum also features exhibits on local history, including the development of the River Avon and the impact of the Industrial Revolution on the area.
We just visited for tea and cake in a sunny afternoon. Lovely tea room/ visitor centre with indoor and outdoor seating areas. Very friendly welcome. The cakes were delicious and enormous! Tea was great and plentiful, and it wasn't expensive. Easy disabled access including toilets. I have visited the mill on a previous occasion, and taken the tour which was very interesting and hands-on. The tour would be tricky today as disabled access for this is limited, but that is clearly stated on the website. A lovely afternoon out.
Only open for a limited period time during the year but a must see! Run by very welcoming volunteers this is a very ancient mill that's gone through numerous changes and that history is certainly conveyed during the tour. Great for all ages although due to the nature of the building there are a few narrow stairs so not accessible for all. There is a great tea room attached to the mill and reasonable parking so arrive early!
Went to Bunbury water mill today. Came across it by chance and had a very informative tour. Peter the tour guide was very friendly and made sure we had a go at operating the equipment. It was a great little find and had their homemade tea and cakes afterwards. Worth a visit especially on a beautiful sunny day
Lovely little place. The staff were all very friendly. Excellent warm scones in the tea room. I was apprehensive about the mill tour being 40 mins (you can only go in through doing the tour) but it went quick and our tour guide David made it interactive for kids. There's a small stretch of river which is picturesque and peaceful. Can purchase food from the shop to feed the ducks. Spent about an hour and a half here.
Our amazing visit to Bunbury Mill. The tour was absolutely fantastic ,we loved it. Peter made it very interesting and he involved us in operating some of the machinery. He also told us some hilarious facts. Come along and start the 10 Ton Waterwheel to test your strength. We'll remember this trip for a long time! The above comments have been made by our 8 year old granddaughter who visited the Mill with us and her 4 year old sister. Thank you for a very interesting visit and making it so much fun for our grandchildren as well as us. What a great team you have! Very best wishes. Eadie, Bess, Nana & Alan
Wonderful! This place is run by volunteers who are very passionate about it. Our lovely tour guide Peter was amazing, I actually learned a lot. It's also very interactive. Great for kids. The tour was about 40 minutes and there is a coffee shop next to it or you can bring your own picnic. Such a nice spot. I would highly recommend it to everyone and you support this place and keep it alive!
