This 268-acre park features woodland, heathland, and grassland habitats, with several walking trails, including the 1.5-mile Burntstump Trail, and a variety of wildlife such as deer, rabbits, and birds.
Beautiful pub in beautiful area and surrounding. Had roast beef dinner which was very nice, bit short on the gravy and had to ask for extra, beef was well done, I do prefer it medium or rare but definitely worth a visit and very dog friendly.
Lovely place and friendly staff. The chef came to our table to discuss our order, which is very impressive for a pub. Outside is perfect for kids and an afternoon stroll in the woods.
Quite a small park with limited parking. No toilets. Pleasant enough for the dogs to stretch their legs as there is a good bit of green space and wood walking. However the road covers two side of the park which is fenced off. It does appear to be safe enough to let the dogs roam free. We met a number of other very friendly dog walkers. Good facilities at the pub that backs onto the park, and they are dog friendly inside. Nice cup of tea and good toilets.
Plenty of open space and walks with a public toilets available for the brave or desperate. On one side is the Burntstump pub serving drinks and food but unfortunately on Sunday was also broadcasting some very dodgy music to the whole park.
Terrible is being polite. Food was awful. Burnt roast potatoes and a steak you couldn't cut through with a chain saw. Apart from a talented singer in the garden we would have left earlier. Never again thats for sure..
Oh my gosh this place is absolutely amazing for walking your doggies! Don't let the mucky sign fool you, this place is a gem! There's a big green field just off the car park (which is free ). This is perfect for my doggies, because, I don't know about you guys, but they have to blow off some steam initially. Then you'll see around the greens there are trails for the woodlands. There is a small pond which has been fenced of with low wire fence. The whole area is somewhat secure there is fencing all around, however at places it has fallen down. Nonetheless the trails are a fair distance from the edge so it's not an issue. The doggies can go off the lead which is another bonus, no horses that we saw of, didn't even see horse tracks and no livestock either. There are toilets in the Caffe/restaurant and food as well. I did not try the food so cannot really comment on that. We will be coming back here. Lovely stress free walk...bliss
