Within the tropical flight area we have created an environment which is carefully controlled and monitored to ensure perfect conditions for our live butterflies. The high temperature and humidity is created not only for the hundreds of tropical butterflies, but to also sustain the tropical plants and flowers needed to enable the butterflies to feed, breed and lay their eggs. The habitat of the butterflies has been reconstructed at our butterfly farm in such a way as to allow visitors an insight into the fascinating way of life of these amazing insects.
It was wonderful. Loved the butterflies. The fact you can go in several times with the ticket means you do not have to endure the warmth more than you have to(it is very warm inside). You came come out, cool down and then go back in again as much as you want. There is also a tent for the young ones to do arts and crafts which is fun for the kids as well. There is also a meadow where you can walk/sit. Please note that there are not a lot to do other than these or not we could see. Overall pleasant experience.
A lovely place, we spent the whole afternoon here with a 7 and 5 year old. A well run attraction with lots more to do than just the butterfly house, which had the most butterflies we have ever seen!
Great experience seeing lovely butterflies. The walk through the building takes about 30min but you can go through as many times as you would like. Most people will walk through twice, so the overall experience takes about an hour. It is very hot and humid so I would recommend dressing lightly. The butterflies fly very close to you and land on some visitors. There is a cafe opposite Butterfly Gardens with a good selection of snacks and food. There are also several benches and tables to sit outside the centre. If you're looking for something to do that doesn't take a long time, this is a great experience.
Saw their sign in passing after a disappointing farm visit nearby. We and 3-year-old granddaughter had an enchanting time, the up-close experience with the butterflies was amazing. Alice the host was knowledgeable and so welcoming. Prices in the shop and cafe were refreshingly reasonable. We will certainly return.
Superb place to visit. Staff are patient beyond expectations. Children shouldn't be running in the tunnel, they are told this. They don't listen are not left to run with risk of stepping on these precious animals. It's beautiful. I fully recommend a visit - but please respect the rules!!
Cute little butterfly farm. It maybe small but they had a large range of different species which landed on you as you walked around. Worth a visit if you're in the area. Edit, we went again in August, butterflies were even more amazing, it was like a fairytale. However, please sort your toilets out. They look clean but the stench was unbelievable and it made me sick. I've been in plenty of natural, drop down type over the years but the smell of these was the worst ever!
