A beautiful walk but carpark machines weren't working and trying to access the appropriate app was frustrating. Worth the hassle however to get onto the downs!
With a local residents pass, parking is free. Always a plus There are walks in every direction with views over Eastbourne to Hastings...and even France on a very clear day In other directions you can see all the way over to Beachy Head, East Dean, Arlington reservoir and North as far as the Heathfield ridge. It's very dog friendly, but there are sheep grazing so best to keep dogs on leads at times.
This has to be one of the most spectacular areas of East Sussex. The South Downs rolling away with views over Eastbourne and coastline. Memorial to WW2 fallen US Air Force personnel of the "Ruth-Less" which crashed into the hillside here. Great hiking area.
