A secluded campsite and airstrip nestled in the picturesque countryside of North Yorkshire, offering tranquil surroundings, basic amenities, and stunning views of the rolling hills and valleys.
Really lovely and great family-owned campsite - everything as expected from a proper campsite! While canoeing down the river Wye, we stayed at 3 different campsites and this was definitely the best. You can choose your own spot to pitch in, and some spots also have campfires. You can buy nice wood from the shop itself. The shop also goes above and beyond as they sell food and drinks though we didn't try these. The facilities are well kept - 2 private showers each in men's and ladies' toilets, and enough toilets for everyone in the campsite. My favourite part is that it has a great launch point for canoes & kayaks as there is a metal bar you can slide your canoe/kayak on from. Great campsite and we'd definitely return. :)
A delightful campsite. Quite informal and when we turned up at 3.00pm, no staff anywhere. There were 2 numbers to ring but signal (EE) was very poor and it wasn't possible to chat and get the needed access code, however a few minutes later, a what's app message from the chap I tried to call came through with the necessary code.|We picked a good spot for a large family tent in the Orchard. Not many other tents up as the season has apparently been quite poor.|We used this as our base to Canoe back to from Hay on Wye and then onwards to Hereford, using Want to Canoe as our canoe hire company.|A great 4 day trip. When we returned on the Friday, the camp site had filled up hugely as a spell of good weather was forecast.|Not much disturbance from other campers and in one instance, some lovely guitar music. Lovely that you can sit around an open camp fire on the ground.
What a little gem first time staying here with friends and we were not disappointed. The site itself is clean, tidy, reasonable, the staff were very helpful. The access to river was brilliant and we all had a lot of fun. The showers are PS1 for 5 minutes and that was plenty for a full scrub. Will definitely be returning.
Still our favourite site after several years! A beautiful site in an ancient orchard on the banks of the Wye, great for canoeing and cycling, hosts are fantastic and offer local ciders and small shop with hot food in the evening, good toilets and hot showers in idyllic setting we will return again in 25 thanks Ollie
What a beautiful site! Bustling and lots of services on hand, but still unspoiled. We camped in the orchard area which was beautiful. There was space to light a fire and the wood we bought from the shop on-site was superb. The toilets are great - clean and with hot running water. The showers are also amazing - hot and easy to use. There is a sink outside with hot running water for washing up. The shop is well-stocked and there is hot food available for breakfast, lunch and tea. Hot drinks are also available. The staff were happy and friendly and so helpful. The site is attentive via email and phone. The landing spot for kayaks/canoes/SUP is really good. We arrived and left by kayak and had a really restful stay. There is a lovely pub in walking distance which serves food until ~8/9pm and has a pool table. I will definitely be back!
Good campsite, quite a large one, mostly clean facilities, showers are PS1 for 5 mins, I only saw two of these in the gents (could be more somewhere else). Access to the Wye for canoeing, skimming stones etc. Camping area is split over 3 fields, and the further away from reception you get the more feral it seemed, people had loud music going post 10pm kind of deal, recommend camping closer to reception if that's not your bag.
