This ancient burial mound dates back to the Neolithic period, around 5,000 years ago. The S-bend Tumulus is a rare example of a curved barrow, with its distinctive S-shape formed by two adjacent circular ditches. The mound is approximately 60 meters long and 15 meters wide, with a flat top and steeply sloping sides. Despite being partially destroyed by ploughing and erosion, the site still retains much of its original shape and remains an important archaeological feature in the Ivinghoe Hills.
