Great experience and fun family day out. Museum was interesting and lots to learn along the whole tour. 4D experience was good, although we queued for 45 minutes for about 6 minutes long. Cafe was very expensive for so/so quality food. The chocolate is now handed out on a one each basis, so you can't eat as much as you like you used to (probably not a bad thing!) Play area for younger children. Probably a 4 hour experience - queues depending. Car parking is good - best to head to car park 3, furthest from the main road entrance but plenty of spaces and close to the play area / 4D experience.
Can't fault it really. Full ticket price may be slightly overpriced but lots to do, fun for all ages and lots of chocolate to be had. Shop has very good bulk discounts. All Audio aspects of the tour have a video of a sign language interpreter translating the audio. Very good idea and very inclusive.
What an experience! The worker doing the chocolate demonstration was brilliant! My son had the best time! Watched it twice! Also recognised my son when we was in the chocolate try it yourself area and helped him. We had the 11am tour. Wasn't very busy. 4d cinema was great! Museum was like stepping back In time. Highly recommended
Great place to visit, but it is definitely geared more towards younger children (primary school age). Wasn't a huge amount to keep the attention of my 2 teenagers, apart from the shop!! We visited during the summer holidays, so it was fairly busy, but we still got to see everything over the course of a couple of hours. Half a day is more than enough to see everything here. I would definitely recommend booking tickets in advance, we did this online very easily. Lots of parking onsite, so that wasn't an issue. Some of the exhibits are starting to look quite dated, and some of the interactive ones didn't work. Shop was the highlight for us, great for any chocolate lover!
The price of admission is too high for a lackluster experience. The highlight for our party of 2 adults and 3 7yr old children was the 2 minute long 4d experience. The history part of the experience whether it was in video form or written did little to capture the children's interest and in many cases the audio was too quiet anyway. Large parts of the tour were very crowded due to the small spaces. Beyond the history of Cadbury, there was a short demonstration of how the chocolate was formed, a few short sit down videos, a sample and a ride where you shot targets. In another area there was a 4d video (only 1 viewing is included with the ticket) and an area where you could mess around with some chocolate. The tour time was between 2-3hrs with a long wait to gain entry due to people not having digital tickets ready. The outside play area was closed due to rain which also meant that all the outside seating was wet as it isn't covered. The only remaining place to eat or sit is the cafe which isn't huge and the food started at PS4 for fries. If you wish to buy pictures from the ride or the green screen space the bundles were priced at PS20 or PS30. The shop was frankly an overpriced joke but still rammed with people, all of the RRP prices quoted were naturally well above what you could buy in any supermarket. A small keychain plush was 2 for PS15 and a pen was PS2.70 as an example. The location itself was easy to get to, there was adequate parking and toilet facilities and the staff were generally polite and friendly. For PS75 the local bowling alley with food and games would have been much more fun and I wouldn't have had to deal with the M5.
Kids enjoyed themselves visiting here. 4d cinema was good and kids loved the adventure playground, the writing in chocolate and chocolate tasting. We have visited multiple times before so knew what to expect but for the price we paid were expecting longer in the inside part. Some bits were being renovated and the queue for the new ride said 60 mins- we queued for about 40 mins. We got 1 chocolate bar each when we went in and then 1 after the ride.
